January 31, 2015—Boucherville, Québec, CANADA – The patented, award-winning Make-A-Bridge® (MAB) modular aluminum pedestrian bridge system created by the MAADI Group, Inc. structural/civil engineering Design and Build firm is opening new manufacturing operations in Boucherville, Québec, Canada.  The new site will house manufacturing and production equipment and facilities for MAADI Group’s premier weld-free aluminum pedestrian bridge product, Make-A-Bridge®.

The Make-A-Bridge® modules will be fabricated using new, custom-made automated production equipment.  MAADI engineers and production crew will custom design, fabricate and manufacture each Make-A-Bridge® in the new 6,000 square-foot production facility, located in the heart of Quebec’s aluminum corridor.  MAADI Group structural engineering services, including custom design, fabrication, manufacturing, and transport of Make-A-Bridge® are conducted in close proximity to MAADI Group’s suppliers and partners.  MAB components are quick-shipped in bundled sections and cost-effectively delivered to job sites in the Continental U.S. and Canada on a standard-size trailer within very few working days. Overseas product shipments via ocean containers must allow extra time, and may be arranged via customized transport scheduled for earliest arrival.

The new production capability enhances the quick-bridge concept for which Make-A-Bridge® is known.  Make-A-Bridge® modular units may be assembled on site by a few workers, without specialized tools or training.  MAADI engineers offer technical support and expertise from design through installation for each bridge project.

“We are very excited about the addition of manufacturing and production capabilities and the move to our new facilities in Boucherville,” said Alexandre de la Chevrotière, P.Eng., President and CEO of MAADI Group, Inc., “It’s a great milestone to add Make-A-Bridge® manufacturing to our engineering services, and the perfect way to celebrate our 10th anniversary.  As an experienced structural engineering firm, we now offer full manufacturing and quick-ship capabilities for Make-A-Bridge®.  We offer complete engineering design and build for many custom pedestrian and utility bridge designs, specializing in structures made with high-strength aluminum alloy.  We expect to see increased demand in 2015 for bridge infrastructure replacement and renovations, as well as for new bridge construction projects in many commercial, industrial and recreational areas.  We are very pleased to be manufacturing our premier product in Québec.”

The new Make-A-Bridge® production facility houses 6,000 square feet of industrial manufacturing space and 1,700 square feet of offices.  MAADI Engineering personnel will supervise the production of Make-A-Bridge® extruded aluminum truss framework components and cast aluminum tripod node joints.  The facility will fabricate the aluminum components with an automated production line that processes the MAB ready for assembly.  The production facility houses equipment and a new quality testing lab.  All weldments will be verified as meeting strict welding procedure specifications.  The new production facility will undergo consistent standards review by Certified International Welding Engineers for the fusion welding of aluminum.  Quality control will be supervised on the production floor by on-site MAADI Group Professional Engineers.
